About This Election

Is it any wonder so many people are down on government?  Partisan politicians spend their entire career trying to tear down the other party, leaving little time to accomplish anything positive. Is this government waste?  You bet it is.  Does this attitude describe my time in office?  Definitely not!  My record as sheriff speaks for itself.  My record is about integrity, accomplishment, and leadership.  My record is about getting the most from dwindling resources.  It is easier to attack an opponent than to demonstrate that you are a better candidate.  It is even easier to promise things you have never before had to deliver.  Left with little other choice, all my opponents are focusing their campaigns entirely on matters of budget and expenditures.

The truth is, I have reduced my budget every year since the beginning of nationwide financial decline.

Public safety expenditures haven't bankrupted anybody or even made anyone poor.  On the other hand, our Seniors vs. Crime program has recovered more than $2 million which has been returned to victims of fraud.

The fact is, Public Safety is a bargain for Citrus County residents. (Link to Article)

Fiscal responsibility is just part of the job of sheriff, regardless of who occupies the office.  The office of sheriff involves much more than just managing the budget.  My mission will remain, as it has always been, to protect you, to protect my employees and especially, to protect our children and elderly.

As your sheriff for the past 15 years, I have delivered value for your tax dollars.  With your help, and the support of the women and men who work with me, Citrus County is a safer, better place to live.  I am asking for your support on November 6, so that we can continue the work together to accomplish even more and to make Citrus County even better.
